ABOUT

I am a general pediatrician who has been in practice for twenty years. My parents are both pediatricians from Thailand and I was raised in Michigan. I attended medical school at the University of Michigan and residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital. I moved back to Michigan for 8 years to work in my mother's practice. I had two kids, transitioned my husband from a career in medicine to a career in law and then we decided to move as a family to a more urban atmosphere.

We moved to Miami Beach, Florida where I had the opportunity to work in an integrative practice incorporating acupuncture, homeopathy and nutrition. I practiced 12 years in this setting and have recently moved to the UWS.

During those 12 years, I was given the chance to broaden my view of healing. What I found is that while being able to interweave conventional and traditional medicine was incredibly rewarding, the American model of medicine wasn't giving me the space or the time to effect true healing. What I did discover was a great joy in working with parents closely. By addressing the parents' anxieties, health, and traumas, I was invariably able to effect better health outcomes for the children. Through my studies with IIN - Institute of Integrative Nutrition - I decided to commit myself to the health coaching/consulting of parents during their parenthood journey.

I decided to commit myself to the health coaching/consulting of parents during their parenthood journey. Recently I have completed training as a postpartum doula which only cemented my commitment to providing holistic care during those foundational first months of parenthood.

I help families build self care, confidence and inner strength. This strength will help families honor the Chinese medicine adage "heal thyself" as opposed to following the fear based, medication dependent model that has overcome the current American healthcare system.

Through my work, I help young families in their early years so they can build a foundation full of self care, confidence and inner strength. Such a foundation, I believe, will help them raise a family that promotes the Chinese medicine adage "heal thyself" rather than the fear based, medication dependent model that has overcome the current American healthcare system.

I offer monthly virtual or in person visits.
